Destined to be a Badminton Star describes Anders Antonsen as someone born into the world of badminton, and they cannot be more accurate. His dad ran the Aarhus Badminton Club just a few meters from their home. His elder brother Kasper Antonsen also played the sport so it was a natural progression for him to play badminton after school.

He was clear about choosing to be a professional badminton player when he was 16. He left school to become a professional sports athlete and quickly became a well-known name on the badminton court. He won the European Junior Championships, Dutch International, Belgian International, and Irish Open tournaments in 2015. He received the European Young Player of the Year in 2015.

Following another splendid year 0f 2016, he won the silver at the 2017 European Championships. In 2018, his team won the bronze medal at the Thomas Cup. During his string at the Aarhus AB, Anders won the National Championships from 2017-2019.

He won gold at the 2019 Indonesia Masters and Minsk European Games. He captured the silver at the 2019 World Championships in Basel, Switzerland. Did you know he won the 2020 BWF World Tour Finals beating World No. 1 Viktor Axelsen?
